Somewhere South

June 8, 2018

So, I think I found my new obsession. Writing and photography you already know about, but now... I introduce.... fly fishing. I've been wanting to try it for years, and after begging for someone to take me, Heather and I joined Kass and his friend who are both guides.

The drive itself down to Taylor Park Lake is breathtaking. Colorado has so many different types of terrains that you almost forget what part of the country you’re in. We spent the weekend scouting Trout, exploring the mountains, and listening to the bone chilling coyotes howling under the full moon. As I mentioned, this was my first time fly fishing, and I’ve never concentrated so hard in my life. It’s truly an art to casting and remaining patient in an area that is particularly difficult to fish. I miss being on the water as much as I used to be back in Massachusetts, and now that I’ve found an activity that allows me to reconnect with that feeling— I’m hooked. Next stop: Miracle Mile, Wyoming. Now, all I need are some Hye Flies @JDHenn11
